WDA Singapore: Helping Women Look & Feel Beautiful


003_low resHer passion is to help her customers look and feel beautiful. Meet Christina Goh, a lingerie specialist with over 10 years of experience in dressing ladies with the best intimate apparel.

As a Senior Sales Supervisor with international lingerie retailer Triumph, Christina sets herself a tall order whenever she is at the service frontline ? how to help every lady she serves look her best.


Sharpening Her Skills

?Serving customers is not easy, especially when they start comparing what other retailers can do for them. That?s why I always look out for opportunities to pick up new skills and improve myself,? Christina said.

004_low res One such opportunity came in March 2012, when Christina participated in the WSQ Effective Retail Selling of Lingerie course with her colleagues from other Triumph counters.

In this specialised training, they were equipped with communication skills needed for the close face-to-face contact they regularly encounter, and they were also introduced to topics that are particularly relevant to their job.

One that came to mind was the topic on ?Bra Wardrobing?, where they were taught to ask customers about their lifestyle and to advise accordingly the lingerie required for a complete bra wardrobe ? with pieces for everyday, home, sports and special occasions. Another one was on ?Fashion Leadership?, which guided them in refining sales tactics according to fashion trends.


Magic Moments

On top of these, they were shown how to create memorable experiences for customers in ?Magic Moments?.

?We can do this by befriending our customers, showing them concern, giving useful tips in dressing and when the occasion permits, and providing honest opinions of their choices. It?s all about giving the extra touch so they?ll remember us in their next purchase,? Christina explained.

Though the course lasted only 5 days, it left a deep impression on Christina and she noticed the benefits almost immediately.


Improved Performance

?I enjoy learning very much and I always look forward to training opportunities. That?s why, I always encourage my team to take up any opportunity to upgrade themselves.?

With her positive attitude towards self-improvement and her never-ceasing efforts to do better, it is thus no wonder that Christina is one of Triumph?s top supervisors and she has led her team to win Triumph?s award for the top three most productive stores for the past three years. On top of that, she has picked up two national Excellent Service Awards (EXSA) ? the Silver Award in 2005 and the Gold Award in 2010.

006_low res?Winning the awards was very special, but the best part of my job is when customers leave my counter happy that they found what they wanted,? Christina reflected.

?When my customers are happy, I am happy too. This is what keeps me in my job and looking forward to serving our customers everyday.?
